Becky Green

Director

What is your story in Aura PR?

Hi, I’m Becky, Director at Aura PR and I have been running the company since October 2019. I first joined the company when it was under the leadership of the previous owner. At the time I needed a role with the flexibility to work around my children but also stay within the area I love – PR and marketing.

I was incredibly lucky to work with an excellent boss who quickly spotted my skills and saw the benefit of allowing my role to develop. During this time, I grew my position from Marketing Executive and then into the Marketing Account Manager position. Over the years we worked for some great clients on a diverse range of projects from driving PR opportunities, building website, crafting award entries and creating dynamic CPD presentations.

Going from being the employee at Aura PR to the owner was a very sudden venture. At the time it was a case of sink or swim, so I rolled up my sleeves and got stuck in. The journey has been eventful at times but above all else it’s incredibly rewarding.

What are your experiences and skills?

Most people probably don’t know that I left university with a degree in graphic design – a skill and knowledge which certainly helps a lot in the diverse world of marketing and PR which requires a multitude of skills. My first ‘proper’ role in the world of marketing started with a large housing association covering the East Midlands area. I was taken on as a marketing and design assistant. It was here that I started to discover my love for marketing and during my time with the company I was able to complete my marketing qualification with CIM – a process which has been invaluable throughout my career.

Jump forward one marriage and two kids and a whole lot of water under the bridge and I find myself working at Aura PR.

What does being the director of AURA PR mean to you?

I love the fact that I get to work with such a wide range of clients which also means we get to cover diverse topics – anything from how to save bumblebees to the technicalities of installing pallet racking safely. Every day brings a new challenge and a different perspective and, as the marketing and PR industry changes, we are constantly learning to ensure we stay on top of all the possibilities open for our clients.

I still love the buzz I get when we take a new client on board and I get to thoroughly research their industry, customer base and identify new opportunities.

Hobbies & interests

When I’m not juggling my hectic work schedule and running around after two kids there isn’t a whole lot of time to spare. We have an adorable cockapoo called Fred and my relaxation time is out treading the fields and giving myself the time to mull over ideas – you’d be amazed at how many blog posts I’ve written on a dog walk!

My happiest moments are cooking up a good meal, getting the family round and having a good chat. I’m also a film fanatic and can pretty much get involved with any genre or style of film (just don’t ask me to watch a western). I can also join a film halfway through and it won’t bother me that I haven’t watched the beginning (much to my husband’s disgust). Last of all give me a good book and a relaxing holiday in a new country and I’m in heaven.

PR and Communications Manager

What is your story in Aura PR?

Hi, I’m Kirsty, and I joined Aura PR in December 2025. My professional life began in journalism, and I spent time on various newsdesks, having written for some well-known titles. I always had a major soft spot for storytelling in one way or another, which (like a lot of journalists) eventually landed me in PR and communications.

For a few youthful years in between, I took a sabbatical to teach English as a foreign language, first in Prague and then in a few different parts of Spain. In hindsight, this gave me an appreciation for how communication works across cultures, and how, despite us all using different languages, we all share a common taste for a good story.

When I came back to the UK in 2016, I made my path in comms and marketing via an award-winning agency in Manchester, and have never looked back!

What are your experiences and skills?

My background as a journalist is probably the thing that paved my path the most. Spending years pitching stories, meeting deadlines and writing for different breeds of demanding editors gives you a major head start when it comes to finding what’s really news, and what’s vague, copied fluff. When you take this experience over the fence from news to PR, it can be pretty useful.

Six years of teaching abroad added another layer, including the ability to connect with people from all over the world.

Fast forward some years later and my career is now built with content creation, storytelling and brand communications, and I still genuinely believe that good writing is at the heart of all of it.

What does being part of Aura PR mean to you?

What I love about PR is that no two briefs are (ever!)  the same. Every client has a different tale, a different audience – and finding the thread that ties it all together is something I find endlessly interesting.

I’m quite passionate about taking something complex or dry and turning it into something people actually want to read. Whether that’s a press release, a brand story or a thought leadership piece, the goal is always the same: find the humanity in the story and get it out there to the world. This is something I get to do all the time at Aura!

Hobbies & interests

When I’m not working I’m most likely somewhere outside. I’m an enthusiastic (albeit beginner) yogi, I love walking steep hills, and I have a campervan that doubles as my home away from home for camping trips.

I’m also a poet, which speaks to a love of language in all its forms. Whether it’s a haiku or a headline, I’m always thinking about how words work and what they can do.
